20th May 2026 – Broken Hill NSW

We needed the blanket overnight and both slept well.

We left the caravan park at 9:00am with our friends.

First stop was to try to say hello to Trevor Barry, the “Outback Astronomer”.  “He” was hoping that Trevor might be cutting the lawn but that was not the case.  We then headed to the Line of Load at Broken Hill.  We concluded that nothing has changed.  Leaving the Line of Load, we headed to Bells Café where we enjoyed a morning tea with a little of their classic food.  After Bells, one of our friends had a blood test.  Next stop was the Mundi Mundi lookout near Silverton followed by a stop at an establishment in Silverton where we had coffee.

Returning to Broken Hill, we visited the solar farm, then a camping shop to purchase an insulated bottle and finally Woolworths before returning to the caravan park.

“She” managed a crack on the head from the caravan door whilst cleaning mud off her shoes.

We had a happy hour which finished when it became very cold as the sun set.  We decided that we would go to the Line of Load late tomorrow afternoon and have happy hour and then watch the sunset.

We learnt that a planned flight to Camerons Corner was cancelled as the aircraft operator could not confirm that the airstrip was suitable after recent rain.

We used the air-fryer for our evening meal and watched television until bedtime just after 10:00pm.
