As we didn’t have to get up early to leave today, the alarm was set to a later time and did not sound before we got up. As we have visited this area several times in the past, our main destination was Orange World where we hoped to purchase some Washington oranges. We have been to Orange World every time we have visited Mildura, and we hoped to renew our acquaintance with the owners, Mario and Maria.
We were not sure if Mario remembered us at first, but we ordered coffee, purchased some fruit and enjoyed talking with him.
Leaving Orange World, we returned to Mildura and shopped at Coles. Arriving back at the caravan park we were updated by friends on the situation with their motorhome. There were many options available to them and to cut a long story short, as they were able to get the vehicle into gear several times today without issues, they had decided to continue to trip which would bring them closer to Sydney.
During the afternoon, a front wheel of the motorhome was removed, and it was clear that the brakes needed to be addressed. A call by a mobile mechanic was arranged. We had a quiet afternoon until the mechanic arrived and it didn’t take him long to replace the brake pads. Our friends should be able to travel back to Sydney at least with the knowledge that the brakes are better than when they arrived in Mildura.
We went to a Chinese restaurant for tea (KKing’s Palace) and enjoyed a good meal. Returning to the caravan, we completed watching the State Funeral of Neil Daniher. We went to bed late.
