The rain was gone when we opened the door in the morning and we were presented with a blue sky. In fact, the wet muddy ground had started to dry.
For different reasons, three of the group departed before 9:00am. We had some concern that water would be on the road from the rain, but that concern proved to be worthless as we saw no water through to Wilcannia. What we did find was a headwind which impacted our fuel consumption.
We stopped at the BP fuel depot in Wilcannia for fuel and we had a long wait.
Our convoy of three continued on planning to stop at the roadhouse at Little Topar for a late morning tea. About 20 minutes before Little Topar, we received a telephone call informing us that the roadhouse was closed for food but was still selling fuel. We decided to drive through to Broken Hill.
Our group was placed together in about the most remote part of the Broken Hill Tourist Park. We had a long walk to the amenities block but there is a small toilet block close to us. We were happy with our location as we were away from the traffic in the park and we create the only noise we can hear.
After arriving and doing a quick setup, we headed back to Broken Hill to purchase some groceries, clothes and a small Bluetooth speaker. We completed our setup after we returned.
It was cold in the afternoon, so we cancelled happy hour. “He” repacked the car, so we have room to take friends tomorrow. A new way has been discovered to make the process of clearing the back seat an easy process. We used our air fryer to bake potatoes for our evening meal which was supplemented with sausages. Television in the evening before bed just prior to 10:00pm.
