Even though there was cloud late yesterday, it remained dry overnight and we awoke to a sunny day with low cloud over the Flinders Ranges.
We were ready to leave by 9:00am, the planned departure time, and steps were taken to make the departure for one member a little easier so she could avoid having to traverse a water course.
We travelled through to Hawker and then to Quorn where we stopped at the Quandong Café for morning tea. One of our group suffered a broken rear window on their landcruiser. How it happened, we had no idea other than a rock bouncing off the front of their caravan and then into the window. One of their taillights was also damaged.
During morning tea, we celebrated a birthday with one of the ladies. We purchased a small quandong pie and used an iPhone displaying a candle to celebrate.
We left the café first and had a sedate trip to Port Augusta where we arrived just after midday.
After setting up, we headed to the auto electrician, but he did not appear to be home. We had a quick lunch at McDonalds before returning for our 2pm appointment. The issue was identified as the earth pin on the headlight lamp. We were directed to an automotive retailer where we were able to purchase an identical bulb (actually a packet of 2 globes (led) that cost just over $100). Returning to the auto electrician, the globe was replaced quickly. He wanted to charge $10 which we rejected. We paid him a higher amount.
We then shopped at Coles before returning to the camp site. As we were all going out for dinner, we decided to cancel happy hour. We did however leave for a short time to purchase a birthday card for one of the ladies.
We all went to dinner at the Western Hotel. The food was very well priced and enjoyed by all.
Returning to the caravan we watched television or a short period of time before heading to bed.
