10 November 2025 – Sydney to Shoalhaven Heads NSW
Other than a trip to Penrith for a service, the caravan has been sitting in our driveway since July when we returned from our North Queensland trip.
Every November, our branch of the Australian Caravan Club holds a Christmas Muster normally within a couple of hours drive from Sydney. The venue for this year was the Holiday Haven Caravan Park located just over 2 hours south of our home.
We asked Microsoft Copilot to write something about the caravan park and the AI came up with the following:

Not bad as AI has produced a good answer to the questions we asked.
We left home just after 9:15am and decided to use the tunnel complex to cross Sydney as far as Fairford Road where we would depart the motorway and head south via Lucas Heights and then Heathcote Rd to the Pacific Highway.
The trip south was uneventful, and we arrived at the caravan park just after 11:30am. It took a little time to place the caravan onto our site and shortly afterwards, the jockey wheel collapsed as we removed the caravan from the car. With the help of another member of our group, the caravan was jacked up, and the jockey wheel was reset. We need to remember this issue in the future. Fortunately, there was no damage done but time was lost in our setup.
After the setup was complete, we had lunch and then quickly visited the local IGA to purchase bread and fruit. After returning to the caravan park, we spent most of the afternoon talking with various friends before the group gathered for happy hour.
Microwave meals for tea followed by a little television. Once the sun set, the temperature dropped so there should be no problems in having a comfortable sleep.
11 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads NSW
The night was a little difficult to manage with the temperature varying to the point where blankets were on and then off and back on again. The alarm sounded at 7:00am but we stayed until 7:30am with not a lot planned for the day.
Breakfast was over quickly and it is amazing how quickly we have got back into the swing of life in a caravan.
We attended a Remembrance Day Service hosted by the local RSL Club in a park a short walk from our camp site. All our group attended which boosted the overall number of people attending.
At the end of the service, we joined friends to walk to a nearby café / restaurant planning to have coffee and possibly lunch. Both the restaurant and café were closed.
We returned to the caravan for lunch.
He spent most of the afternoon discussing our 2016 trip to WA with another friend who is heading in that direction later this year. That discussion was interrupted with the arrival of a windstorm and a tiny bit of rain. The intensity of the wind forced us to stow our awning as was the case with many others. The wind blew in a window on one of the caravans.
We attended a happy hour and that was followed by a meal in the Shoalhaven Heads Hotel.
When we left the hotel, the wind had stopped and was replaced with cold air. We expected to need a blanket in bed tonight.
With little to watch on television and the temperature dropping, we were in bed by 10:20pm. Just before 11:00plm there was commotion outside of our caravan and we quickly learnt that one of our members had an accident and had been unconscious for a short period of time. Several other members had assisted with first aid, and the fallen member was conscious and a wound on his head had been tended to. Whilst she was taking through the window, the window became jammed and would not close. He, who had been asleep, had to find a lubricant spray to get the window closed. That took time with the window eventually closed.

The alarm sounded at 7:00am and we were up quickly to have breakfast which was followed by showers in the caravan.
We left at 10:15am and drove to the Gerringong Bowling and Rec Club where most of our members participated in lawn bowls. We decided not to participate and spent time talking amongst ourselves. We enjoyed lunch there before heading back to the caravan park.
He joined another member and played with Starlink before we all participated in happy hour later in the afternoon.
After tea we watch television and She prepared for our annual general meeting that will be held tomorrow.
12 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads NSW
Today the branch provided a cooked breakfast for all members. A small number of cooks presented breakfast consisting of sausages, bacon, fried tomato and fried eggs. Breakfast was excellent.
We spent the morning really doing very little as we were preparing for our branch annual general meeting in the afternoon. We purchased pies for lunch from the Shoalhaven Head Bakery plus a couple of vanilla slices. The pies were up there with the best we have had and one of the vanilla slices was not far behind.
She stood down from her position on the Branch Executive, and he was re-elected to the role of publicity officer.
The meeting was conducted quickly and was followed by an afternoon of games. He played disc bowls and old skills soon re-emerged.
After dinner we had drinks with friends and had a good laugh.

Today the branch committee with some helpers cooked breakfast for the group. We were both part of the committee, but the small size of the kitchen resulted in our presence not being required.
We held the branch AGM during the afternoon, and she retired from her position as branch president, but he was re-elected (again) art the publicity officer.
We participated in disc bowls during the afternoon that also incorporated a happy hour.
14 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads NSW
We were up early to participate in a car rally. There were four separate routes shared between members with a series of questions to be answered on the way. Before arriving at the Jamberoo Hotel for lunch. We visited some locations that we had never seen before and enjoyed the drive through the countryside. Our route saw us stopping at Berry for morning tea as well as a visit to the Treat Factory. We also stopped at the Berry Railway Station to answer a couple of questions.
After lunch we enjoyed a coffee at Jamberoo before returning to Berry for some shopping and then the caravan park for a late happy hour.
The caravan park is filling with weekend warriors.
We had a small evening meal followed by television before an early night the bed.
15 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads NSW
Another quiet day with suspect weather on the horizon. We had left our awning up for longer than we would normally do but it had been taken down with the Saturday weather forecast.
We had dinner at the Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club before returning to the camp site, extending the awning and quickly added some Christmas decoration. If there was a prize for “tech”, we would have won it. The group did a wonderful job in decorating most of the RV’s.
16 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads NSW
We had a quiet day today giving thought to having to pack-up to return home so we could go on another holiday.
The highlight of the day was a communal evening dinner where those attending placed their tables and chairs on the roadway in from of the RV’s. We purchased a pizza locally and it was not all that bad.
We took the opportunity to say our “good-byes” to everyone to ensure we would have a quick departure tomorrow.
17 November 2025 – Shoalhaven Heads to Sydney NSW
Our pack-up was quick and we were on the road just before 9:00am.
The decision was made to travel via Berry as there was roadwork taking place on the road we used to get to Shoalhaven Heads. The trip home was uneventful with another decision made to return home via the M5, and then the M7 and then the M4 tunnels. It took a little over two hours to get home.
