We set the alarm for 6:30am and pressed the snooze button twice before getting up. Much to our surprise, the temperature outside of the caravan was cooler than the air conditioning inside.
We met with members of our group at 9:00am and made plans to travel to the very small town called Daintree and have a couple of cruises on the Daintree River.
Today we invited friends to travel with us and with our friends loaded into the car, we were heading to Daintree via Mossman just after 9:30am.
Except for one couple, the remaining members of our group all headed north to the small town of Daintree. Before having a cruise on the freshwater side of the Daintree River, we enjoyed a quick morning tea in a very busy café. The cruise was focused on looking for crocodiles and we were able to see several in their natural environment. There were a couple of crocodiles lying on a sandbar that was also occupied by several cows. The cows were aware of the threat, but it did not stop them from heading to the river for a drink. The crocodiles just ignored the cattle.
Returning to the departure wharf, we had a 12-kilometre drive to the next jetty where we departed on another cruise on the Daintree River but on the saltwater side. Again, we saw several crocodiles living in their natural environment. We also saw the rainforest that borders this river.
We returned to Port Douglas for a very late lunch after which we went to a lookout that gives you an expansive view of the beach to the south of Port Douglas. Much to our surprise there were a lot of people swimming, and we do not know if they were protected by nets of simply enjoying the surf.
We returned to the campsite just in time for our happy hour.
We used our air fryer to cook our evening meal. She ironed after tea whilst he consulted with a friend over some photography issues his friend was having. It looks like he has a dead camera.
