Another 6:30am alarm as today we said goodbye to Winton and hello to Longreach.
As mentioned previously, the pack-up is becoming easier and the only thing that went wrong today was the connection between the car and caravan. She travelled with our single lady and shortly before leaving Winton, a vehicle behind made contact by radio to advise that the left blinker on the Adria caravan was not working. A quick shake of the connection resolved the problem and a bit over 2.5 hours later we arrived in Longreach.
The venue for our stay is the Longreach Tourist Park, a location we have stayed at twice before. Setup was completed quickly followed by a quick trip into town for a visit to the bakery. We needed bread and no excuse to purchase a couple of pies for lunch.
We received a telephone call during the afternoon to confirm our attendance on a river cruise and dinner tomorrow and the call ensured that those members of our group attending the activity would be seated together.
We had an entertaining happy hour today with jokes running rampant. We have a good group of people attending our tagalong. During happy hour we decided to eat out on Sunday, and a booking was made at what appears to be the only dining option open on Sunday.
We cooked our evening meal, showered and watched the football until it concluded. Then to bed as we have an early start tomorrow.
