The alarm was set for 7:00am and we only stayed in bed for another 10 minutes. It was not overly cold when going to the amenities block but that was because we had extracted some of our winter clothing from our storage yesterday.
Today was planned to be a day of relaxation with only a couple of items to attend to.
Some of our group carpooled and drove to Porcupine Gorge some 65k’s away where you had the option to look from a lookout or heads to the caravan park and walk into the gorge. They selected the latter of the two.
As for us, we did some grocery shopping from the well stock SPA grocery store before buying pie for lunch from the bakery. After lunch, we took friends in the car to the visitor information centre, then a café for milkshakes, a great butcher shop for meat and final fuel. Cost of fuel was the highest so far on the trip with diesel just under $2 per litre.
After returning to the caravan park we calculated we have spent $1652.41 so far on the trip on fuel with average consumption of 14.45 litres ever 100 kilometers. That is considered reasonable and a little lower than expected.
We attended a happy hour and that was followed by cooking crumbed steak that we purchased earlier in the afternoon.Television then showers in the caravan which we managed to keep warm in the cooling conditions
