We have the Readybrute with the brake attachment. When you reverse it can apply the brake however, I will certainly try your suggestion and if done slowly, the brake may not be applied.

Thank you for your comment Erik.

Cheers

Hi Geoff
These days it is not only the price of the weekend, but the cost to get there and back. Both Nagambie and Coffs Harbour are 1500k's round trips for us and that equates to about $350 in fuel costs. I still work so it also costs me 4 days of annual leave. I would be happy to see the NSW Christmas Party return closer to Sydney (back to Del Rio at Wiseman's Ferry). Whilst the actual weekend cost is a factor in any decision, we have a lot of friends in the WRVC and the Christmas gatherings are always a great opportunity to see everyone.

Cheers

Interested to see you also found Winnebago Xmas weekends have got overpriced - they now seem to see the weekends as a moneymaking venture rather than a PR exercise.

John have been trying to get into the WRVC site and it just keeps locking up not sure what the problem is. Did you say that you had to put a cover plate on the inside bottom of your door if you have not done so and require one I have some thin alluminium left over when I did mine if you need one let me know the size and I will cut one for you and bring it to Kiama. Cheers for now Rick

Hello Geoff

Like you, we have also had false messages via the Iveco computer including "Brake Failure"and most recently, "Low Oil Pressure". These were all false and were corrected with a restart of the engine. You can also disconnect the battery, let it sit for 15 minutes and then reconnect. That can fix problems. If you do, make sure that you reconnect the battery terminal correctly as it has to be a tight fit. We found out the hard way when restarting during the time of our problem when we lost all power even though the terminal looked solid. It wasn't.

Unfortunately the problem we had was very real. Iveco at Townsville (Macquarrie Trucks - absolutely fantastic) confirmed that the problem was a fractured vacuum hose between the turbo VGT valve and the electro valve. The EGR electro valve was also faulty.

They state that the problem was normally caused by normal wear and tear or heat. With less than 30,000k's on the clock and the problem occurring in the middle of winter on a cool wet day, it does make you wonder.

If I had to speculate on the cause, I put it down to having driven through some mud where the engine did have to work. In saying that, the temperature did remain within limits and the rev counter was in the normal range. Maybe the turbo had to work a little harder and found a small fracture in a hose. We will never know!

Cheers

HI
fascinating ready - very jeleous.
We also have a 50C18 Iveco Daily. We also have many problems with engine management, all have been false readings. In your trip, where you had to do your 1,000kms to get to a dealer, what was the cause of the problem?
Or was this a false reading? Enjoy or trips, Geoff Budge

I just read your latest update and saw these comments.
"Previously we had concerns about the extender value fitted to the outer rear tyres. We had noted a pressure loss after they were fitted and now assume that the connector had not been tight enough."
We have a Winnebago Leisure Seeker on the Iveco 50C15 chassis.
I have been struggling to find somebody who can supply the valve extenders for the outer rear tyres. All tyre services places I ask just shrug their shoulders and tell me to use the service station inflators. (which do not work) Where did you get your valve extenders, how much did they cost and do you have a photo? We are on the road full time and before I leave my current location (Mackay Qld) I want those extenders when I get 4 new tyres fitted. (I already had 2 new tyres fitted a few months ago when one tyre shredded while on the road near Narrabri)
Wow! I am anxiously awaiting your reply so I can get these extenders without delay.
Cheers

Thanks Linda

Emmdale was a disaster when we were there. I hope that the new owners make a fortune there as we saw it as an opportunity waiting to happen. Thank you for letting us know.

Cheers
