11 November 2009 – Sydney to Albury

It seemed that we had waited an eternity for this day to arrive as it was to be the start of the longest trip that we had undertaken since February this year and the second trip since “Her” surgery in August.  We had booked several months ago for the “Victorian” Winnebago Christmas Party intending . . . → Read More: 11 November 2009 – Sydney to Albury

Katoomba – 17 October 2009

“He” turned on the ignition key and the starter motor turned over but Blue Snoopy would not start!

How long was it since we had started the motor home? Actually the motor home had been started two weeks prior when it was repositioned in our driveway but the motor had operated for less than 60 . . . → Read More: Katoomba – 17 October 2009

Rathmines NSW – 8 August 2009

Several weeks ago we made plans to meet some friends (who we met them through the Winnebago RV Club) at Rathmines NSW for a quiet weekend of free camping on the shores of Lake Macquarie, an easy 2 hour drive to the north of Sydney.  This weekend would also be our first real “free . . . → Read More: Rathmines NSW – 8 August 2009

Jenolan Caves, Bathurst & Narrabeen – 1 Aug 2009

We mentioned in our Aberdeen post that after our return trip we intended to have a front wheel alignment. That has now been done and it feels like we are driving an entirely different vehicle.  There is a message there and that is as soon as you fell anything strange through the front-end, have . . . → Read More: Jenolan Caves, Bathurst & Narrabeen – 1 Aug 2009

Aberdeen NSW – 3 July to 6 July 2009

Our trip this weekend was under a cloud as “He” developed a good dose of the flu earlier in the week and it was not until Thursday that we agreed we would make the trip.  We departed just after 7.30am on Friday and drove straight into Sydney’s peak hour nightmare.  Under normal circumstances, it . . . → Read More: Aberdeen NSW – 3 July to 6 July 2009

The Entrance – 30 May 2009

Initial plans for this weekend saw us travelling up the NSW Coast to Port Stephens where we were to meet some friends who would be holidaying from Melbourne.

Unfortunately, the severe weather conditions experienced on the eastern side of Australia over the past month saw our friends change their plans and they headed home early.

Blackheath – 8 May 2009

As a result of working over part of the Easter weekend, a “day in lieu” was available so we decided to make a long weekend of it.  Unfortunately we overlooked “Mother’s Day” so our long weekend would only be Friday and Saturday.

For sometime now, “She” has wanted to have a security door added . . . → Read More: Blackheath – 8 May 2009

Bylong Mouse Races – 27 to 31 March 2009

“Mouse Races” you say?

This would be our second Winnebago RV Club outing and another opportunity to catch-up with some folks that we met at the Winnebago Christmas Party last December.

Bylong is a very small rural community (pop about 60 persons) located midway between Mudgee and Muswellbrook just to the north west of . . . → Read More: Bylong Mouse Races – 27 to 31 March 2009

Blackheath – 16 January 2009

When we were young, Christmas took forever to arrive and the school year seemed to take an eternity to complete.  Now we are older, last Christmas seems like it was yesterday and next Christmas seems like it is tomorrow.  The same can be said for travel in the motorhome.

Our last outing in Blue . . . → Read More: Blackheath – 16 January 2009

Winnebago RV Club Xmas Party from 8-12 Dec 2008

On Friday morning we departed home just after 10.00am and travelled to Wiseman’s Ferry, a small town that is located on the banks of the Hawkerbury River.  We acrossed the Hawkerbury River on the Webbs Creek Ferry, turned left and arrived at our home for the next three nights, The Del Rio Riverside Resort.

Moss Vale – 22 November 2008

In the days leading up to our departure, the weather forcast indicated that the weekend was likely to consist of severe weather at our destination point including gale force wind, rain and the possibility of snow down to 1000 meters.  Would we go, YES.

We departed Sydney at 9.00am on Saturday and headed towards . . . → Read More: Moss Vale – 22 November 2008

Fingal Bay – 25 October 2008

For some time now we had planned a trip to the Port Stephens area to visit an old workmate that “He” worked with in the late 1990’s. It would also be the third trip for the new “Blue Snoopy” and another chance to work on the optimum speed to maximise fuel consumption. It would . . . → Read More: Fingal Bay – 25 October 2008
