5 April 2017 (Wed) – Sydney to Jugiong NSW

Our last trip in the caravan seems to be so long ago and in reality, it actually was.

The caravan has been in our driveway for the past 4 months with the last “tripping” use being a trip to Budgewoi for our . . . → Read More: 5 April to 17 April 2017 – Wagga Wagga NSW & Stone the Crows Festival

29 March 2016 –Jugiong to Sydney NSW

We said farewell to our travelling companions just after 8:00am when we started our journey home.

The trip was uneventful and the fuel burn relatively low.  Thank God for both still conditions and a slight tail wind.

29 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga to Jugiong NSW

Today we packed up and after stopping for fuel, we headed for Jugiong where we spent the night with our friends.

It was sad saying goodbyes to some of our friends who we will not see until later this year.

At Jugiong “He” did the research on having the refrigerator repaired and following calls . . . → Read More: 29 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga to Jugiong NSW

28 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

Today was market day where the site was open to the public.

We had not realised that the morning show was hosted by Mel & Susie and we arrived well after the show had started.

Just after the show concluded, we were asked if we would be interviewed by one of the local television . . . → Read More: 28 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

The weather still remained kind to us and as was the usual case, we started our day by attending the morning show.  This was the last show held in the main enclosure as the enclosure would be used on Monday for our open day.

We made the decision to attend the 2017 Stone the . . . → Read More: 27 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

26 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

We started our day with the morning show and then worked on the merchandise stand.

Today “He” managed to break our dual burner “lunchbox” cooker.  The control that fires the igniter broke.  Later “He” would discover that and exceptionally strong switch on the igniter is activated by a flimsy piece of plastic.  In his . . . → Read More: 26 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

Good Friday but a day still full of activities.

For the first time “He” missed the Morning Show as he was involved with the siting of 40 or so weekend attendees.

It has rained overnight but we were fortunate in that the rain was not sufficient to cause problems with the mud.  The siting, . . . → Read More: 25 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

24 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

The forecast for today was for overcast skies.  As we sat at our table having breakfast, it rained but just enough to settle the dust.

As we have done since we became involved with this festival, we attended the morning show where we were entertained by Jim Haynes and then Pete Denahy.

We made . . . → Read More: 24 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

23 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

We finally had the opportunity to stay in bed a little longer.  We had the alarm set for 6:00am for a comfort stop and then for 6:45am for breakfast.

We attended the 8:30am morning show and enjoyed performances by Jim Hynes, Noel Stallard, John Smith and finally Mel & Susie.

Whilst “She” worked on . . . → Read More: 23 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

22 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

Today was the arrival day for most attending the festival and “He” was involved with siting of some of those attending.

Our day started just before 6:00am.  The siting was completed by early afternoon when we were able to join our friends for lunch.  We spent part of the afternoon catching up with friends . . . → Read More: 22 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW – Stone The Crows Festival

21 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

We set the alarm for 7:00am and it was actually very hard to get up.

“He” attended a meeting of the siting team and following the meeting we took the opportunity for a trip into Wagga to firstly see friends camped at the free camp site and then to do some shopping.

We share . . . → Read More: 21 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

20 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

The night was cool and managed to sleep well.

With one of our friend, “He” spent several hours in the morning marking the final camping sites.  With the kind weather over the past couple of days, most of the ACTA site had dried after recent rain.

We shared morning tea with the other volunteers . . . → Read More: 20 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

19 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

Last night was very conducive for sleeping with the temperature relatively low and our roof vents open.  “He” was requested to close the vents at 3:00am which must have been just after he entered into the best sleeping pattern he had experienced this century. Nevertheless, “She” did appear a little happier!

We deliberately slept . . . → Read More: 19 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

With further work to do with numbering sites, the alarm was set for 6:00am.  At exactly 5:59am it started to rain.  We were deprived of 1 minute of sleep.  Whilst rain was expected for a short period of time, we were unable to start with the site numbering so an extra 30 minutes of . . . → Read More: 18 March 2016 – Wagga Wagga NSW

17 March 2016 – Jugiong to Wagga Wagga NSW

We were ready to depart Jugiong just after 8:30am knowing that the trip to Wagga Wagga would take around 1.5 hours.

With the exception of one “drop kick” who decided to change lanes very close to us, we had an uneventful and stress free trip into Wagga Wagga and we drove immediately to the . . . → Read More: 17 March 2016 – Jugiong to Wagga Wagga NSW

16 March 2016 – Sydney to Jugiong NSW

Our last outing in the caravan was to our ACC Branch Christmas at Berry NSW in late November 2015.  Since that time we had not been able to use the caravan as we were waiting for hail damage suffered in August last year to be repaired.  That work was undertaken and finished in February . . . → Read More: 16 March 2016 – Sydney to Jugiong NSW

30 March to 7 April 2015 – Wagga Wagga and “Stone The Crows” Festival

Last year we volunteered to help at the second, Stone the Crows Festival which is held annually, at Easter, at Wagga Wagga.

This year we had also volunteered, “He” would be assisting with audio / visuals, traffic control and any other task allocated and “She” would be co-organising the merchandise store.

13- 16 February 2015 – Katoomba NSW

With not a lot planned between our January trip to Robertson and our March trip to Wagga Wagga, an invitation late last year from friends to attend with them the annual Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival at Katoomba was too good to pass.

Our friends would be staying in a guest house at Leura and . . . → Read More: 13- 16 February 2015 – Katoomba NSW

During the Easter period twelve months ago we attended the inaugural Stone the Crows Festival at Wagga Wagga.  We enjoyed the festival so much that we booked for 2014 as soon as we were able to do so.  We also volunteered to help at the festival.   Whilst the festival starts on the Thursday before . . . → Read More: 13 April to 22 April 2014 – Wagga Wagga and “Stone The Crows” Festival

After returning home from Trunkey Creek last week, it was time to head off again to Wagga Wagga in south western NSW (retirement is very tiring!) where were going to attend the inaugural “Stone The Crows” festival.

Whilst the festival commenced on the Thursday before Easter, we were attending as part of a group . . . → Read More: 27 March to 3 April 2013 – Wagga Wagga and “Stone The Crows” Festival
