It was warm overnight but we both managed to sleep well.

Having an ensuite site made it easy for bathroom tasks and following a quick breakfast, we were ready to join the group at 9:30am for a tagalong.

About nine vehicles left the caravan park and crossed the main western railway line and descended into the Megalong Valley and stopped at the Megalong Valley tearoom.  Many of the group had a late breakfast be we decided on a Devonshire tea.  We spent a good hour enjoying the ambience of the area and it was also good that we were just below the smoke haze from a fire burning in the adjoining valley.

After leaving the Megalong Valley, we turned left and headed to Hargraves Lookout.  This lookout provides an expansive view over the valley where the Cox River runs.  On a clear day you can see south to Kanangra Walls, the hills above Jenolan Caves, Hampton and then to Lithgow in the west.  Unfortunately,  the smoke haze impacted on the view, but it did create an illusion of a misty distant landscape.

One of the group had his hat blow off with the wind but he managed to scramble down a small hill to retrieve the hat.

Next stop on our trip today was Govetts Leap Lookout.  Again, the smoke in the area impacted on the view. “He” took many photographs of the distance rock faces as our son has an interest in the rock faces with a book that he is writing.

Returning to the caravan park, we met our friends from Sydney that we have travelled with over recent years.

After lunch, “He” extended our awning and put up a single strand of Christmas lights.

We had a quiet afternoon before joining the group for happy hour in the caravan parks camp kitchen.

Tonight, we had Woolworths curried sausages with rice for tea.  We will definitely buy this meal again as besides being very enjoyable, we had our evening meal cooked in just over 10 minutes.

Tonight, we joined other members of our group for Trivia.  Our table came second, and we asked for the scores to be rechecked as we didn’t think we went that well.
