7 April 2018 – Jugiong to Macquarie Woods, Vittoria NSW

We had not planned to leave Jugiong early, so we stayed in bed until our alarm sounded at 7:00am.

After breakfast we readied ourselves for departure and were ready to leave just after 9:00am.  We agreed with the two other couples who we had joined yesterday that we would all relocate to Macquarie Woods with the intention of having a quiet day tomorrow to gather thoughts etc after the busy week in Wagga Wagga.

Leaving Jugiong, we headed via back roads to Harden, Wombat and then to Young where we stopped at some markets.  We were hoping to have coffee but decided to continue onto Cowra for lunch and the missing cup of coffee.  Just before reaching Cowra the computer on the Nissan Navara froze.  This meant we had no access to information on fuel consumption, the gear we were travelling in or elapsed mileage.  Once we arrived in Cowra, “He” shutdown and waited a couple of minutes bore restarting the vehicle.  The problem was not solved.

We had lunch at a café and found that the computer had reset itself during the break of almost an hour.

With fuel running down, we had intended to refuel at Blayney but access to the station was not available with a vehicle facing the wrong direction.  We did stop at another fuel location, but the automated system would not accept our credit card.  Rather than returning to the other fuel station, we decided to head to Bathurst and refuel.  The low fuel warning sounded as we entered Bathurst and we quickly found a Shell Station and refuelled.

The computer did not fail again during the remainder of the trip today.

It didn’t take long to complete the remaining 29k’s to our overnight destination at Macquarie Woods Recreation area at Vittoria where we joined the other two couples on the lower side of the camp ground.  All of our recent stays here had been high on the hill, but our previous spots were occupied.

After finding a very flat site to park, we had an early happy hour. He was able to fly both drones and obtain some wonderful pictures to the area.  We cooked our evening meal before having an early night in bed.
