19 August 2016 – Port Lincoln SA

The weather is unbelievable, it was very hot the previous night whilst last night was very cold.  We had moonlight one minute, the next minute very heavy rainfall.

The temperature range today was forecast to be between 6 and 14 degrees.

We had decided to ignore our 7:00am alarm and actually sleep in for an additional 15 minutes.  And that is what we did.  We also had planned today to visit the Lincoln National Park but a quick look outside our door at the dark clouds made us rethink that plan.

With our friends we went into Port Lincoln and had a walk around the shops.  We have been visiting camping stores during this trip and the store at Port Lincoln is up there with the best we have seen.  We had coffee and then visited the local ARB store to purchase an accessory for our air compressor.  We also did more grocery shopping.  We now have sufficient food for our trip home.

After returning to the caravan for lunch (we purchased some prawns from Coles and they were great), “He” refuelled the Nissan with all of our reserve fuel as we do not believe there is a further need to carry it.  “He” also checked all of the tyres on the caravan and discovered that the tyre that was repaired in Tennant Creek is still dropping pressure.  Arrangements were then made to have the tyre looked at tomorrow.

With rain still falling (a heavy at times) we decided to have a board games afternoon.  The boys took on the girls playing Sequence and were unbeatable.  After seven games, the score was six to one.

We returned to our caravan at 6:00pm for our evening meal and spent the remainder of the evening watching television.  The temperature has reduced significantly and we have a heater running.
