About Blue Snoopy

Blue Snoopy is a 2018 Adria Altea 402PH Sports Caravan pulled by a 2012 Nissan Navara ST Dual Cab Ute.

31 May 2016 – Port Augusta to Roxby Downs SA

We heard the sound the light rain when we awoke but by the time we emerged from the caravan, the rain had stopped and the sky was clearing.

The caravan park is located close to the intersection of the Stuart and Eyre Highways where the signs simply says “Perth Western Australia” or “Darwin Northern Territory”.

We left just before 9:00am and turned right heading towards Darwin.

The countryside looked dryer than our previous visit to this area but the scenery still remains magical.  We have always had a special relationship with South Australia and have the opinion that this State contains some of Australia’s best scenery.

By the time we turned off the Stuart Highway at Pimba, we were in brilliant sunshine with very little cloud.

We stopped at “Spud’s” roadhouse for fuel, coffee and something to eat.

Leaving “Spud’s” we headed towards Woomera and then took the turnoff for Roxby Downs.  It was only a relatively short run from Woomera to Roxby Downs but we were introduced to new scenery.  Not long after leaving Woomera, we were presented with a very flat landscape.  Apparently this is what can be expected on the Nullabor Plain.

We arrived at Roxby Downs just after midday and registered at the Myall Grove Caravan Park.  The afternoon was spent in the caravan park after we found a nice grassy patch where we played disc bowls.  We stayed on the grass for happy hour and retreated to our relevant RV’s after the sun went down and the mosquitos started to bite.
